Old Calcutta, still breathing

From Paran Chandra Nag's Bowbazar counter to a two-century legacy.

Founded in 1826 and named for Bhim Chandra Nag, the shop grew into one of Kolkata's most beloved sandesh houses. Public histories connect its counter to Ramakrishna Paramhansa, Rani Rashmoni, Sir Ashutosh Mukherjee, Rabindranath Tagore, and Satyajit Ray.
